From an event idea to a digital experience built to sell participation.

Himalayan Motorrad began as a project in August 2025, with the event scheduled for April 2026.

The objective was to create more than an event website. The digital experience needed to communicate what the festival was about, build anticipation and make it easy for riders to commit to the experience.

A key part of the challenge was that we weren't selling just an event ticket. Riders also needed to be able to book their stay and accommodation as part of their participation.

I designed and built the experience from the ground up — including the visual identity, website, UX, content structure, registration and booking journey.

Giving the festival a visual starting point.

The first step was creating the Himalayan Motorrad identity according to the client's brief.

The logo became the foundation for the digital experience, giving the festival a recognisable visual presence that could extend across the website, communications and event touchpoints.

Designing the journey from discovery to participation.

The website needed to do more than communicate information. It had to take someone from discovering the festival to understanding the experience and ultimately deciding to participate.

The experience was therefore structured around a natural progression:

DISCOVER Introduce the festival and its character.
UNDERSTAND Explain the experience, programme and practical details.
EXPLORE Help riders understand what they could experience.
CHOOSE Present ticket and accommodation options.
BOOK Turn interest into confirmed participation.

Making participation simple.

The event had an important commercial consideration: tickets and accommodation needed to work together.

The booking experience was designed to allow riders to understand their options and complete their registration and stay booking as part of the same overall journey.

Rather than treating booking as a separate technical function, it was considered as part of the experience itself.

Structuring information around the rider.

With an event, there is a lot of information competing for attention.

The UX and content structure were designed to make that information easier to navigate while keeping the focus on the experience itself.

The website needed to answer practical questions without allowing the functional information to overwhelm the character of the festival.

EVENT What the festival is and what to expect.
PROGRAMME What happens and when.
EXPERIENCE What riders can participate in.
STAY Accommodation and practical arrangements.
REGISTRATION How to secure participation.

From visual concept to a working event platform.

I was responsible for both the design and implementation of the experience.

That meant taking the visual direction through UX and interface design and into the working website, registration and booking experience.

The result was not simply a visual concept for the event, but a functioning digital platform capable of supporting the launch and handling participation.

Sold out in three weeks.

The event launched ahead of the April 2026 festival. Within three weeks of launch, all event tickets and accommodation were sold out.

The digital experience became the bridge between discovering Himalayan Motorrad and committing to the experience — bringing together the event story, information, registration and accommodation booking in one journey.

The experience starts before you arrive.

Himalayan Motorrad was a project where design had to do more than establish a visual identity.

It had to create anticipation, communicate an experience and make participation easy.

From the first idea in August 2025 to the sold-out launch, I was involved across the entire digital journey — from the identity and visual direction through to the UX, website and booking experience.
